I have always had pets, usually strays that people leave on deserted country roads, one of the disadvantages of growing up in the country. I don't ever remember any problems until I decided to get a puppy instead of a grown dog.
My puppy was misbehaven ,unruly, destructive in every way. Chewing everything in sight, digging up my read garden - oops, Translation - back yard for people not living in England, constantly jumping on all my friends when they came for a visit.
Things that were destroyed:
Kitchen cabinets - chewed.
Dining room carpet - mauled, dug up, chewed.
Lounge "living room for non Brits" speaker wire & lamp wire.
Rear garden dug up good portion of garden, always bringing stuff dug up in the house.
Chewing on everything from that fence to interior doors.
